Hair and Cars

So I'm backing up the driveway this morning when the evil neighbor's rose bush jumped out and scraped the ever-lovin' out of the side of my car - making that lovely *skreeeee....* sound that sends prickles up your spine and makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. And doesn't hub just flip right out, like it was my fault or something. Says I was too close to the roses and now look at the side of the car - it looks like it's been KEYED for chrissakes.

Oh....sorry. *eye roll* what is it with men and cars? So it's got a scrape . . . so what? As long as it's got four wheels, intact windows, cup-holders and brakes that work then I'm good to go. But men? Ooohhh a bird pooped on the car - quick, better wash that off.

Oh Please.

I guess it's that women fuss over their hair and men fuss over their cars and neither of us can understand the other. Me? I've got to get myself in for a cut and color because *gasp* I can't possibly go to my brother's wedding with split ends and roots showing to be photographed and recorded for all eternity. Hub? He just shaves his hair all off and calls it good.

See?

My husband is so particular over the cars. I sit in his car with hands folded on my lap, afraid to fingerprint anything. ;) And he is equally fussy with his hair. Me, not so much on either. :) Hope the scratch isn't too bad, though.

i keep trying to reference war of the roses but i'm not really clever enough today.

cupholders. what more does one need, really?

Good fences make good neighbours...if he is so upset he just got elected to deal with the neighbour and get a fence up to solve thr problem for well and good.

One of my old cars actually was keyed. My reaction? Well, good thing it happened on the passenger side so I don't have to see it. Who wants to take a car in for repair for that?
I understand women and hair - it's our own appearance. But men and cars? Why do they think bird poop and a few scrapes reflect on them?

Wow...in MY house it's me who worries about washing the car and Mr.Man who's more concerned about his hair than the car...HAHAHA

Your take on this is so bang on -- men freak out about the simple things with their cars...I just care that mine works!! As for hair -- you'll look beautiful for those keepsake photographs at the brother's wedding...men have it so much easier -- shave and a buzz and good to go!! For men that care how they look...some don't...(I've got one of those...)

In this particular case, I am the anti-man. My car is just a tool...like a hammer. It gets me from Point A to Point B...the end. If it gets a scratch...on well, things get scratched. It still works.
